James 4:13-17

Last Sunday Pastor Brian preached that James desires for us to be humble. We read in James 4:10 that we should humble ourselves before God. In this sermon text we read how that humility extends to our calendars. Rather than arrogantly boasting in our future plans we should instead seek the Lord's will, and make plans with the attitude that God's will is greater than our own will. This text also leads us to reflect on how we respond when our plans are broken, or they change. Do we look to God's will? Do we respond with "Not my will but thy will be done?" Or do we throw a fit? We ought to glorify God with our plans but also in how we respond to our plans falling through.
