James 2:8-13

James continues his condemnation of partiality. He demonstrates that one who is partial does not love his neighbor. If you do not love your neighbor, you are a lawbreaker, as are the murderer and the adulterer. Even the smallest violation of God's law is an offense to a holy God. All have sinned and fallen short of God's glory. James teaches us that mercy triumphs over judgment. Even though our sins deserve judgment, those who believe receive mercy in Christ. The triumph of mercy over judgment ought to lead us to great joy in Christ.
