The Sovereignty of God

Jonah has headed in the opposite direction of Nineveh to Tarshish, though he still cannot escape God's presence. Ironically, Jonah has sought to escape the God of the land and the sea by ship. God has sent a storm to judge Jonah. This text shows us that God is sovereign over the lots, the sea, the salvation of sinners, and even animals. God's sovereignty encourages us in our mission to bring the gospel to lost sinners.
