Psalm 88 is known by many as the darkest of Psalms. It is a lament that is full of sorrow and seemingly lacking praise. Though the Psalmist is close to death he still comes to the Lord day and night in prayer. From this Psalm, we see an example of a man desperately praying to God without ceasing. This Psalm helps us learn how to come to God in suffering. One day the Lord Jesus will wipe away every tear, but until then we may suffer. Suffering is hard, but it is not meaningless. God knows and sees your suffering and he is working in that for your good, and for his glory.
